Our school entered two teams to compete against other schools on Sunday at JHHS. They all did well with some exceptional skills from Hannah on floor, Jimmi on vault, Rayarn on beam all receiving 9.0!
Well done team!
Room 4 had a Wacky hair day to support Garrett and his new hair style. Garrett’s brother, Ethan and his Dad got their hair shaved off too. Libby bought her brothers sheep, Sally to get shorn. Her lambs had to come as well.
We are learning about Place Value and this ictgames game helps reinforce the idea that numbers are made up of tens and ones
This term we are continuing with our Trash to Cash Inquiry. This has been our poem for the last week. We have enjoyed talking about the lyrics and how we reduce, reuse and recycle.
Our bird feeders have been a great hit and lots of people left us feedback on prototype day. We had a lot of feedback and grouped the ideas in groups.
Some people’s feedback for improvements for our product was ….
Have different colours and/designs on the feeders
Hammer the nails in properly
Don’t let the paint peel off
Have some rope/chain to hang the feeder
Make some bird food
So after listening to the feedback, Room 4 thinks we need to….
Learn how to hammer in the nails better (Harry’s idea)
Learn how to paint so then the paint doesn’t come off (Nicole’s idea)
Put rope on the feeder (Marta’s idea)
Make some signs up like Room 3 had (Olsen, Harry and Garrett’s idea)
Ask people who wants a bird feeder so we know how many to make (Tim’s idea)
Stay tuned ….

Lilly Jackson a talented musician came into Room 4 for some work experience and brought her guitar. She composed this song, and won song of the night at Rock Fest.
We were a little bit gutted that Lilly didn’t know any of the songs we knew, so we are writing a list for Lilly so she can come back and play for us, and we can sing along.
Have you got any favourite songs that Lilly could practice? We quite like Crocodile Rock.
Let us know!
With all of the snowmen making over the weekend, we got to continue the fun in the snow, with the load of snow Kerry “accidently” bought to school. It was heaps of fun. We tried to get Mr Witheford but he was too fast (just like the Gingerbread Man!) but Maureen enjoyed our snow ball fight.
We wrote some exciting stories about our weekend in the snow - we will post them later.
Our “Just a second” challenge this week is how many words can I write in 3 minutes? If we can beat 20 we get a jelly bean. So far only Brooke, Libby, Nicole and Tim have dipped into the lolly jar. Who will be next?
